Bathing lake Dreenkrögen - Camping site Silbersee

Outdoor pools and guarded bathing areas

The quite idyllically situated gravel lake offers the ideal cooling in summer. While it has been a popular swimming destination for locals for decades, only a few vacationers know about the quarry pond hidden in the forest. Yet it offers everything that such a bathing pleasure needs: The best water quality, large and fine sandy sunbathing areas, a jetty, snack facilities, sanitary facilities and lifeguards ensure safety in the cool water.

On the outskirts of the village, somewhat hidden in the forest, lies the bathing lake of Dreenkrögen. This is a popular bathing place in the summer months for families who want to escape the hustle and bustle of public outdoor swimming pools. The Dreenkrögen bathing lake is a typical dredge lake, which was formed by the extraction of gravel. It has no inlets or outlets and is fed exclusively by groundwater. Nevertheless, the water is crystal clear and invites to a refreshing cooling on hot days. On the east side of the almost seven-hectare lake there is a natural bathing beach with a sunbathing lawn. The bathing area is supervised during the summer months, so that families with small children can also enjoy the outdoors and the bathing fun without any worries. The lake is also popular with anglers. There are eels, perch, lead, pike, carp, roach and rudd.

Campers, camper tourists and caravan vacationers are welcome.
