The pier was opened in September 2009 after only 4 months of construction. From the pier Dranske offers in the months of June to September the opportunity to experience a trip to the nearby island of Hiddensee. It also provides a close-up view of the sport of windsurfing. The jetty also has 5 guest berths with a water depth of 1.8 - 2.0 m. Service facilities for sailors include water, electricity and WC.
