Anyone traveling in Dömitz will sooner or later discover the Old Brewery. Where the maltster used to create his delicacies, there is now a workshop for glass art where there are all sorts of things worth seeing.
Reliefs, paintings and sculptures made of glass as well as lead glazing and smelted glass - all this and much more is created behind the old walls of the former brewery. Since 2001, Ute Stender has been running her glass art workshop here with four kilns and a gas-powered glassworks furnace. The technically difficult handling of the material is probably the reason why only a few artists dare to work creatively with glass. All the more interesting is the offer that Ute Stender has in store for visitors to the Old Brewery. They can watch her work and try their hand at it themselves in workshops. By appointment, groups of all ages can gain a little insight into the topics of glass and ceramics as well as bead winding, and can then make their own unique pieces. Those who do not have so much time can also purchase the glass works made by the artist, which can be discovered everywhere in the brewery.
