The Salzhaff is very shallow and the standing area is therefore extremely large. Especially windsurfers have to walk further out at low tide so that the fin doesn't involuntarily become an anchor. Pepelow shows its best side with southwest to north.
The entry area is located on the sandy beach in front of the water sports station. The spot has a 250-meter standing area and is therefore ideal for surfing beginners. You will enjoy the best conditions when the wind blows from southwest to northeast.
The Wohlenberger Wiek is for the most part under nature protection. Nevertheless, you can really let off steam here with kites and sails. For this purpose, the municipality has set up a surfing zone from May 1 to September 15. The protected location makes the Wohlenberger Wiek a flawless shallow water playground with wind from west to northeast.
Just a few kilometers west of Wismar, you'll find a shallow water spot for northwest to northeast winds in Zierow. And there is even a camping site here. Please pay attention to the designated surf zone.
