Bothmer Castle is one of the largest baroque palaces in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It was built in 1726-1732 by the architect Johann Friedrich Künnecke. The builder was Imperial Count Hans Caspar von Bothmer.

Only a few bathers stray to Groß Schwansee. That's why you can sail down the long natural beach here in northwesterly winds, completely undisturbed and parallel to the shore.
The spot at the Salzhaff offers shallow water deluxe! You can park in front of or on the campsite. Day tickets are available at the reception. The Salzhaff is very shallow and the standing area is therefore extremely large. Especially windsurfers have to walk further out at low tide so that the fin doesn't involuntarily become an anchor. Pepelow shows its best side with southwest to north.
The Wohlenberger Wiek is for the most part under nature protection. Nevertheless, you can really let off steam here with kites and sails. For this purpose, the municipality has set up a surfing zone from May 1 to September 15. The protected location makes the Wohlenberger Wiek a flawless shallow water playground with wind from west to northeast.
Just a few kilometers west of Wismar, you'll find a shallow water spot for northwest to northeast winds in Zierow. And there is even a camping site here. Please pay attention to the designated surf zone.
