Stages: 1-2 days The award-winning "Wanderbares Deutschland" quality trail leads through a picturesque landscape along the Great Jasmund Bodden on the Island of Rügen. On 24 kilometers between Neuenkirchen and Mukran in the northeast of the island, hikers experience the varied Bodden landscape without major differences in altitude and, with a little luck, encounter sea eagles or otters, which are native to the area, between quiet meadow landscapes and near-natural forests.

The tranquil community of Neuenkirchen is located on two peninsulas, nestled in the unique Bodden landscape. The starting point is the Gothic Maria Magdalena Church with Rügen's oldest bell. The path leads to Laase and further to a bridge over the Liddower Strom. Passing the Liddow cultural estate, the trail then follows the shores of Lake Tetzitz to the pine-covered Banzelvitz Mountains. The steep hills open up a magnificent view over the Jasmund Bodden. Parallel to the reed-covered Bodden shore, the trail goes through Moisselbritz and in gentle ups and downs to the Buchenberg. Directly on the Great Jasmund Bodden lies the picturesque castle estate of Ralswiek. The path leads through the scenic park to the village of Ralswiek. The village with its thatched houses and the busy harbor offers some resting possibilities. It is famous for its unique natural stage, where the Störtebeker Festival takes place in summer.

The Black Mountains with their important Slavic-period burial mounds are hiked through on a shady forest path. In Lietzow, the unspoiled beach invites you to take a swim, and the Semper forest park with its fascinating coastal forest is also worth a detour. Along the railroad tracks you will start the last stage at the Small Jasmund Bodden. Through Buddelin, a near-natural beech forest on a terminal moraine, and the slightly hilly terrain, the trail leads to Mukran. Before that, it is worth making a small detour to the flint fields. The stone sea consists of fist-sized flints that pile up here to form mighty walls. Violent storm tides are said to have washed them up about 4000 years ago and deposited them many meters into the forest.
