Concert with Alligators of Swing: Swing, Blues & Boogie
After celebrating the Alligators of Swing's 30th stage anniversary with over 30 concerts throughout Germany, the busy reptiles from Franconia are delighted to present a new program and a new CD in 2024.
They remain true to themselves - swing, blues and boogie-woogie - and are touring Germany and neighboring countries with a new program of lovingly arranged cover versions of Ray Charles, Louis Jordan, Nat King Cole, Nellie Lutscher etc. and original compositions.
Once again, attention has been paid to a balanced mixture of swinging songs, grounded blues, danceable boogie and whimsical lyrics. Insight into the emotional life of chickens ( Ain't nobody here but us chickens ), how a party evening in New Orleans gets completely out of hand ( Saturday Night Fish Fry ) or an ode to the bartender ( The Bartender's just like a mother to me ).
An entertaining evening of humorous stories, snapping fingers and tapping feet is guaranteed.
Over 500 concerts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, 5 CDs under his own name. Together with artists such as Karen Carroll and Johanna Schneider, they have celebrated swing, blues and boogie woogie in all its facets. Stefan Scholz (sax, voc), nominated for the German Blues Award - saxophone in 2012, Christian Jung (piano, voc), also a long-time pianist for Jeanne and Karen Carroll and Sydney Ellis, and Dieter Schreiber (bass), who has accompanied Big Time Sarah, Steve 'Big Man' Clayton, Charlie Love and many others, are sure to have plenty of anecdotes to share.
One thing is for sure: the "Alligators of Swing" will continue to bite hard for a long time to come.
