Exhibition

The exhibition shows illustrations from children's books and free works.

Claudia Burmeister works as an illustrator in the fields of children's books, learning materials and editorial. Her task is to visualize specific commissions with her illustrations. Claudia Burmeister creates these with gouache paints, colored pencils and in combination with simple printing techniques. They are much more than just an accompaniment to the text, because the image can illustrate a complex topic in such a way that it is both explanatory and informative for the viewer. Mastering this task is a real challenge for Claudia Burmeister; at the same time, she appreciates the creative process and the opportunity for her own interpretation as an illustrator. As an illustrator, she can also transcend geographical or linguistic boundaries. Especially in picture and children's books, it is the pictures that children "read" and that shape their idea of things in this world. Claudia Burmeister therefore sees her job as an illustrator as a great responsibility.

Burmeister regularly works on joint projects in the artists' collective POPPY Field and is a member of the professional association of illustrators (IO Illustrators' Organization). She is currently working on a book for Bohem Verlag.
