It is one of the most popular bands of the East: the "Stern Combo Meißen".
Since 1964, the band, founded in Meißen, Saxony, has been successfully on the road with its music and continues to thrill audiences. Founder, band leader, singer and drummer Martin Schreier managed, despite ups and downs, to significantly shape the style and content of the STERN-COMBO MEISSEN and to maintain it over the period of now 56 years. Martin Schreier contributed many songs, such as "Der Kampf um den Südpol", "Die Sage" or "Also was soll aus mir werden" to the band's extensive repertoire.
The STERN-COMBO MEISSEN has released eleven albums so far and is an indispensable part of the German music scene. Highlights of the long and eventful band history were, for example, the participation in the "WDR-ROCKPALAST" in May 1996 on the Berlin Waldbühne, performances in the context of the world exhibition EXPO 2000 in Hanover, the award of the art and culture prize of the city of Meissen in 2010, as well as the unique and grandiose performance in the almost sold-out STAGE THEATER at Potsdamer Platz in April 2013, of which on 10.01.2014 a DVD-/CD-Box-Set under the title "STERN-COMBO MEISSEN at the Theater am Potsdamer Platz" appeared. On it are included in addition to the complete concert recording also reviews in the history of the band.
