The big band "Spuerkeess-Bankers in Concert" was founded in November 1988 by several musicians from the Staatsbank and Staatssparkasse Luxembourg.
Today, the ensemble consists of 25 active musicians who are dedicated to upscale big band music with heart and soul.
In addition to numerous performances in Luxembourg at cultural events as well as in-house occasions, the Big Band inspires both at home and abroad. (Bonn, Trier, Hameln, Travemünde, Lucerne, Zurich, Elbigenalp, Reutte, Berwang, Brussels, Paris, Knokke, Weilburg, etc.).
Compact sound, high professional standards and perfect technical organization are all characteristics of this unique ensemble.
Big names of big band music like Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Claude Bolling, Chick Corea but also Terry Gibbs Dreamband and many more enrich the promising program of the "Spuerkeess-Bankers in Concert".
