Movie night
The documentary feature film by Peter Schamoni makes it clear that the artist Caspar David Friedrich, who is so celebrated today, was hardly recognized as a painter during his lifetime, as his often gloomy pictures did not meet the taste of the time. The 1986 film was made in collaboration with DEFA. Many scenes were shot at original locations, including Greifswald, Neubrandenburg and the Island of Rügen.
