Festive benefit concert
The state police orchestra celebrates its 75th anniversary
Since its first concert in June 1948, the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Police Orchestra has been an integral part of our state's cultural landscape. It sees itself as a sounding ambassador of the state police and brings joy and entertainment to the people with a cross-genre musical repertoire.
The orchestra, under the direction of its conductor Cornelius During-Schwarzmaier, invites you to the Ludwigslust town hall to celebrate the end of its anniversary year. On Friday, 24 May 2024 at 7 p.m., the 30 orchestra members will perform their favorite music under the title "LPO persönlich". And this is stylistically diverse. For example, there will be theme tunes from well-known crime series, symphonic variations on the famous Napoleonic song "Funiculì - funiculà", the "Sabre Dance" by Aram Khachaturian and the "Florentine March" by Julius Fučik.
Katrin Lièvre, the singer of the National Police Orchestra, will also be performing. With her charming and enchanting voice, she will transport the concert guests into the world of the musical "My Fair Lady" and the TV series "Babylon Berlin".
In addition to the music, the audience can expect a presentation full of anecdotes and stories about the orchestra and the people behind the instruments.
