A presentation on the occasion of the Berlin International Film Festival - by the Spanish Film Institute (ICAA) and the Embassy of Spain
About the exhibition: Photographs by Miguel de Arriba
Cantabria and cinema have always been closely linked. More than 100 years have passed since this region was first featured in a movie. Since then, many directors have chosen Cantabria as the backdrop to tell their stories, such as: Mario Camus, Manuel Gutiérrez Aragón, Alejandro Amenábar, Daniel Sánchez Arévalo and many others.
In Cantabria, they have found a place that offers all the landscapes you need for a film shoot within a short distance: Sea, beaches, mountains, lush forests, green meadows, unique villages and towns.
The exhibition created by the Cantabria Film Commission invites you on a visual journey through some of the landscapes that have already become part of film history.
It is a presentation that was jointly presented to the film industry by the Spanish Film Institute (ICAA) and the Embassy of Spain on the occasion of the Berlin International Film Festival - BERLINALE 2023 and will now be shown at the 33rd Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Film Festival 2024.
