Learn more about the moving history of the camps in Fünfeichen. The public tour of the memorial offers a deep insight into the events during the Second World War and in the post-war years.
Fünfeichen, nestled in a picturesque landscape, holds a story of complex tragedy. During a public tour of the Fünfeichen memorial site, a moving narrative is revealed. This narrative spans several camps that shaped the site from 1939 to 1948.
From the prisoner of war camps Stalag IIA, Oflag IIE and Oflag 67 during the years 1939 to 1945 to a short-term repatriation camp - each phase contributes its own story. Finally, Fünfeichen became the site of NKVD Special Camp No. 9 from 1945 to 1948.
This multi-faceted history comes to life during the tour, as visitors explore the traces of times gone by and learn the profound stories of the people who stayed here.
The tour is free of charge. Registration is not required.
The meeting point is the "Gestützte Kreuz". Parking spaces are available.
