The exhibition offers an impressive insight into Radomski's photographic work, which is closely linked to the Peaceful Revolution in the GDR. Particularly noteworthy are his secret film recordings of the Leipzig Monday Demonstration on 9 October 1989, which played a key role in mobilizing the population. In addition to these historical recordings, photographs documenting everyday life and the youth subculture in the GDR are also on display.
Aram Radomski was born in Neubrandenburg in 1963 and grew up in Groß Nemerow on Lake Tollensesee. After training as an agricultural technician, he worked as a freelance photographer in Berlin and became involved in the GDR opposition. He has received several awards for his commitment, including the Siebenpfeiffer Prize (1991), the Bambi in the "Silent Heroes" category (2009) and the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany (2019)
