Reading & talk as part of the exhibition "60 years of F.C. Hansa Rostock" | Moderation: Dr. Uwe Neumann (Kunsthalle Rostock)
Achim Streich, actually Joachim, was one of the stars of F.C. Hansa. There are many reports on how to become a professional footballer. But how do you become a fan, and how do you stay one? The Rostock-born author Peter Wawerzinek combines the story of a friendship with the name Joachim Streich. No, Streich is not his friend - but someone who still knows everything about him today. Back then, Wawerzinek's narrator played against Rüdiger from Kirch-Mulsow at Traktor, and Rüdiger became his bench-mate at secondary school in the district town. Decades later, the two meet again. One of them still knows everything about his idol. The other is writing a book about it: about growing up in the GDR, childhood friendships and being a Hansa fan in the broadest sense.
Peter Wawerzinek, born in Rostock in 1954, has been a freelance writer, director and radio playwright since 1988. He has published numerous novels, including "Rabenliebe" (2010), "Schluckspecht" and "Liebestölpel" (2019). Peter Wawerzinek has received numerous scholarships and was awarded the prestigious Bachmann Prize.
