The first exhibition in the gallery at Dömitz Fortress this year takes up an omnipresent theme. Under the motto "Art for the climate", Brunhild Junge is showing her patchwork works.
The 72-year-old has been creatively exploring the topic of climate change for years. The exhibition will open on Saturday, March 30, at 2 pm. Anyone interested is cordially invited to attend.
The Dömitz resident has been making fabric and patchwork for over 20 years, inspired by a pretty bag made from various pieces of fabric that she came across by chance. She joined a group in Dannenberg that dealt with sewing techniques and attended courses at the adult education center. Brunhild Junge has since become a master of this textile technique, creating complex patterns and designs, often with artistic appliqués. She uses very different types and pieces of fabric in all sizes, shapes and colors. She finds inspiration in nature and art history, among other things.
