At "Swimming Piano" on Lake Eixen, two old friends and colleagues will meet up this year and turn the evening into a "Meeting of the Spirits".
The renowned pianists Ulugbek Palvanov and Eugené Mursky are not only connected by their love of classical music. Both were born in what is now Uzbekistan, grew up in Tashkent and received their first piano lessons there from the same teacher. Ulugbek Palvanov then studied at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow and at the Hanns-Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin. He has won numerous prizes, including a silver medal for chamber music at the 2018 Global Music Awards in Los Angeles (USA), and has performed with renowned orchestras and as a soloist in many countries around the world. His colleague Eugené Mursky also studied in Moscow with Prof. Lev Naumov, one of the Soviet Union's most famous piano teachers. From 1993, he continued his studies at the music academies in Trossingen and Hanover in Germany and won first prize for the best Chopin interpretation at the World Piano Competition in London in 1994. This was followed by concerts all over the world as a soloist and with renowned orchestras. An extraordinary concert program will be performed in Eixen, including the obligatory "Moonlight Sonata" by Beethoven as well as works by Mozart and Chopin and part of the "Nutcracker Suite" arranged by the pianist Mikhail Pletnev. Please note: Visitors should bring their own seating.
