Come with us on a mushroom excursion into the pine forests of the Schaabe and immerse yourself in the wondrous kingdom of mushrooms.

Come with us on a mushroom excursion into the pine forests of the Schaabe and immerse yourself in the wondrous kingdom of mushrooms.

We meet at 9 a.m. on the Kurplatz in Glowe and introduce ourselves to each other:
Eckhart Berger mushroom expert from Binz, Lutz Spindler from Breege and the other participants in the group.
Using fresh mushrooms brought along, we show the important distinguishing features, compare the edible mushrooms with their poisonous doppelgangers, give tips on finding, collecting, cleaning and preparing them. We answer questions about useful mushroom literature, identification apps on smartphones and popular YouTube channels.
We then give an overview of the tour route and head off into the forest, where we look for delicious edible mushrooms together. Not only chestnuts, porcini mushrooms and butter mushrooms are desirable fruiting bodies. With a bit of luck, the attentive forager will also find pearl mushrooms, chanterelles, russulas, pine boletes, tintling mushrooms, curled mushrooms, birch mushrooms, red caps, witch boletes, sand boletes, sheath boletes and many other edible species.
Don't worry, if you are still a beginner we will be there to help and advise you.
At some points you will then have the opportunity to go on a hunt yourself and put your newly acquired knowledge into practice. We will then discuss the finds together at the Kurplatz at around 1 pm.

What do you need to bring?
The most important things to bring are sturdy shoes, closed clothing against mosquitoes and ticks, mosquito spray and provisions for a short break.
If you want to take mushrooms with you on your own responsibility, then bring a small knife, a basket (a cloth bag / fruit net can also be used if necessary) and possibly a brush for cleaning mushrooms.

The length of the excursion is approx. 8 km and 3 - 4 hours, therefore not suitable for children under 6 years.

Meeting point: Am Kurplatz, 18551 Baltic resort Glowe (in front of the sanitary building)

Participation only possible with pre-registration
