Every Wednesday at 1 p.m., the Bergen auf Rügen City Museum shows the 45-minute documentary "Klaus Ender - When pictures have a soul..." about the life's work of the extraordinary photographer and poet. The road to success was often rocky for the self-taught and lone fighter Klaus Ender.
Klaus Ender was a visual artist of photography, nude photographer, poet and author. Above all, however, he was a free spirit who went his own way and asserted himself against many obstacles. The film entitled "Klaus Ender - When pictures have a soul..." looks back on his eventful life between East and West - from the beginnings of his photographic career, through five decades of artistic work to his last nude. Numerous archive recordings such as the first radio interview on Austrian radio and film footage from the 1990s complement this contribution. The documentary was published in 2021 by Heimat-Bild-Verlag in co-production with PFA Deutscher Fernsehfunk.
