Kick-off hike of the 13th Rügen Hiking Spring

Our 6-kilometre hike begins at the Peters bakery, where we meet nature guide Eckard Berger. Together we make our way to the famous flint fields, an impressive landscape made up of millions of flints. On the way, we learn exciting facts about the formation of this unique formation and the special features of the chicken gods - stones with mysterious holes - as well as about thunderbolts, the fossilized remains of prehistoric sea creatures.

At the flint fields, we take time to enjoy nature and discover the magic of the stones. Eckard Berger shares fascinating stories and shows us how to recognize chicken gods. After exploring on our own, we make our way back.

Back at the Peters bakery, a bread tasting awaits us with master baker Nils Peters. We try different types of bread and find out which ingredients ensure the perfect taste. There will also be exciting insights into the tradition of the baking trade. An enjoyable end to an eventful hike!
