Musical opening of the exhibition

One theme, one weekend, many events: The patent of a certain Adolphe Sax from 1846 provides an opportunity for an all-round view this summer. The SIGNUM saxophone quartet as prizewinner in residence and its guests will present the saxophone as an instrument with many faces.
18 historic saxophones will travel from Rome to Ulrichshusen this weekend. In Fiumicino, a suburb of the Italian capital, Attilio Berni runs the world's only saxophone museum and, together with the SIGNUM saxophone quartet, will be presenting some of the exhibits to the festival audience in Ulrichshusen. Berni is regarded as one of the most important experts on this comparatively young wind instrument, which is still not quite at home in the concert hall but is all the more popular in popular music. Following the presentation, the exhibition will remain open for viewing for two days.
