The technical monument is a branch of the Waren City History Museum. Experience tiled stoves from different eras and learn about the craft of tile-making...
A stove, just like grandma used to have! Few furnishings are as steeped in history as the old tiled stove. The family gathered around it on cold evenings, it served as a cooking area and, of course, as a showpiece. After all, ornately decorated stoves in castles and manor houses were not just about practicality. Experience tiled stoves from the original model through faience and Art Nouveau stoves to the standard GDR models. In the tile pottery, built in 1905 and preserved in its original state, you can also see a variety of tiles and tile-making equipment. The technical monument with its clay cellar, kiln, winch and drying areas brings history to life.
The Waren Museum and History Association and volunteers led by monument conservator and ceramic designer Franz Poppe are committed to preserving the historic building.
Admission is free of charge.
