Silent film art in the open air - accompanied live by Tobias Rank
The WANDERKINO is a mobile cinema that has been traveling throughout Europe and beyond since 1999 - with a clear cultural-historical claim and great attention to detail. Silent films of various genres are shown: from slapstick comedies to monumental films and experimental works. The films are projected on original 16mm film technology - analog, lively, authentic.
All films are accompanied live - by Tobias Rank, pianist and founder of Wanderkino, who is responsible for both the film screenings and the background music. He succeeds in a special way in creating a dense connection between image and sound and giving each film evening an unmistakable character.
The entire cinema, lighting and sound equipment is housed on a restored Magirus Deutz vintage truck (built in 1969), which also transports the instrument and seating. Within a short space of time, an atmospheric open-air cinema is created at each location - in a nostalgic setting reminiscent of the pioneering days of cinema.
Venue: Rhododendron Park Graal-Müritz (concert pavilion / canopy)
Admission price for residents of the Baltic health spa Graal-Müritz & guest card holders: €8/person (persons who are neither residents of the Baltic health spa Graal-Müritz nor in possession of a guest card are required to pay a daily visitor's tax in addition to the admission price).
