Conclave (Great Britain/USA 2024)

Cardinals from all over the world are traveling to Rome to elect a new pope. Their brother in faith, Thomas Lawrence, is to lead the conclave. As the doors to the Sistine Chapel close, Lawrence preaches: "Certainty is sin, without doubt there is no reason for faith. Afterwards, there is turmoil in the college. The election campaign turns into a religious war. The film tells the story of the strict sequence of rituals, the seclusion of the men in the Vatican and their struggle for power and influence in the manner of a thriller. Based on the prose by Robert Harris and the screenplay by Peter Straughan (Oscar-winning), Edward Berger directs a renowned ensemble, led by Ralph Fiennes.
