ConcertLEBEN Island Intermezzi - Chamber music by the sea

Surrounded by Rügen's picturesque landscape, we would like to dedicate ourselves to Caspar David Friedrich and capture the resulting emotions and moods with music. His probably best-known work "The Wanderer above the Sea of Fog" is not to be missed, which will be paired right at the beginning with a piano recital consisting of Schubert's Wanderer Fantasy and other works that illuminate the basic elements of the Romantic wanderer element.
"Previews" of the next concerts and other gems of string chamber music are now available at a concert in the Schlosshotel Ralswiek. In the Badehaus Goor you can enjoy a "mélange" of cheerful and virtuoso chamber music during the coffee break.
Afterwards, we will also dedicate ourselves to the life of the painter in the "Melodious Search for Traces". In addition to Mozart's 1st Piano Quartet and Schumann's Piano Quintet, we will perform works that were composed during his lifetime, as well as other pieces with a biographical connection.
The concert "Life Cycles" focuses on Friedrich's cyclical painting, in particular his seasons. You will hear four different seasons by different composers, as well as Franck's cyclical violin sonata (with violin, viola and cello).
The final concert, "Between Heaven and Earth", focuses on Caspar David Friedrich's deep reverence for God, which often clashed with the Romantic landscape painting typical of the genre. The relationship between the secular and the spiritual is thematized by two highlights of chamber music, Mendelssohn's 2nd Piano Trio and Schubert's String Quintet.
