Achim Sonntag is often out and about at flea markets. And that's where he recently found an oversized book with the exciting title "The truth about the Frog King".
By slipping into seven different roles and jumping from one to the other, he tells his audience its contents: we finally find out how the frog became a frog, what he experienced before he ended up in the princess's well, and the ending also has a good surprise in store for the audience.
Achim Sonntag presents the Grimm fairy tale in a new guise: original, funny, fast-paced and performed with great enthusiasm.
Achim Sonntag, born in 1961, is a freelance children's theater producer. Born in Düsseldorf, he has lived in Wengen in the Allgäu since 2007. After gaining experience in various forms of theater, he came to children's theater over 30 years ago through his own children. He has continuously developed a concept with two main focuses: 1. he appeals strongly to the children's imagination and 2. he always involves his audience in the course of the action. The children become an integral part of the action on stage.
To date, eighteen plays have been created on the basis of his concept, with which Achim Sonntag has toured throughout Germany and increasingly abroad (Austria, Luxembourg, Spain to date) with great success.
During the Corona period, he also began to write texts for adults, from which the "Literatur auf Hut" program emerged. He occasionally performs at poetry slams with some of these texts.
