In an old manor house, in a scenic location, on the main road 108 between Waren and Teterow, you will find the Töpfergut Panschenhagen. Friedemann Henschel is considered the humorist among potters, his figures and vessel sculptures exude wit and irony. Typical are his voluptuous ladies, riding on all kinds of mythical creatures or simply perched on the spouts of teapots. Utility objects with added value. Each object tells its own story, because each piece is absolutely unique.
Friedemann Henschel is considered the "enfant terrible" among the ceramists in Mecklenburg.
Visitors can admire the results, which have become elaborate, in a spacious exhibition room in front of the workshop. The tongue-in-cheek, somewhat surreal creations of the ceramist are appreciated by many collectors.
It is always cozy and warm in the quaint old vaulted cellar of the 150-year-old manor house, the ceramist's workshop. After all, behind the armored cabinet-like kiln doors, hellishly hot things happen: Here, the thin-walled vessels or roundish figures, built up and shaped over days of work, receive a solidifying cure at 1200 degrees Celsius.
