A Ringelnatz evening with Verena Fränzel (accordion) and Ulf Annel from the cabaret DIE ARCHE (Erfurt/Thuringia)

"Every whim of my eyelash..."

Serious and light-hearted, chewing and coarse sailor jokes, grotesque ideas and tender poetry - Ulf Annel swung from sensitive Ringelnatz biography into the mumbling of the famous sea dog. The audience was sympathetic and applauded enthusiastically right from the start, although Annel had not yet done more than stumble onto the podium and empty his first wine glass in one go.

So he rumbled off and then became very gentle again with the letters and poems of Hans Bötticher - the civil name of the forging light sailor - to his beloved "Muschelkalk". In addition to the melodies from the sailor's piano, including Ringelnatz's favorite song "La Paloma", partner Verena Fränzel also contributed the occasional "na, na" to dampen her colleague's exuberant fantasies a little.
