Claudia Crämer (Raku ceramics) & Peter Weinreich (painting)
Exhibition opening: 31.8. at 3.00 pm
The master ceramicist Claudia Crämer (*1954), whose numerous awards testify to her high level of artistic acceptance and who has lived and worked in Fischerhude, not far from the Worpswede artists' colony, since 1991, is showing ceramic objects created by raku firing: each piece is unique and unrepeatable. Claudia Crämer uses glazes containing copper oxide, which, when smouldering, result in extremely elaborate exhibits with a unique and one-of-a-kind effect, as if painted with fire. The Berlin painter Peter Weinreich (*1942) has lived in Berlin-Friedrichshagen and Ireland since 1980, where his very different paintings are created under the impression of an almost immeasurable variety of nuances in the play of light and color in the "positive loneliness" of Ireland: Surface architectures of strict tectonics, moving expressive color tones or almost monochrome images of enchanted and magical places.
