Abi Wallenstein, who has achieved cult-like fame over the years and is known as the "father of the Hamburg blues scene", is one of the outstanding blues greats in Europe. He owes this to his almost 55 years of stage work with an average of 120 concerts a year and his unique guitar playing: the combination of simultaneous bass, rhythm and riff elements, his eight-string guitar, his raspy voice and, last but not least, his commanding stage presence.
Abi Wallenstein regularly works with Bertram Scholz, who has been an active blues musician since 1985 and was inspired stylistically by the music of Lightning Hopkins, Jimmy Reed and Chicago blues. Bertram Scholz has also performed at many renowned blues festivals in Germany. He is a co-founder of the legendary Lübeck "Blues Parties", which attracted a great deal of attention in the blues scene in the 1990s. For many years, he accompanied Delta blues legends David "Honeyboy" Edwards (who played with Robert Johnson) and Louisiana Red on many concerts and tours. He had a long friendship with them. He presents a program of blues classics and his own songs.
