Schumann's "Dichterliebe" and Beethoven's "An die ferne Geliebte"
The interior of the Seemannskirche Prerow is decorated with mementos of rescues from extreme hardship: pictures and model ships donated by grateful sailors. Benjamin Appl and the Armida Quartet could not find a more emotional venue for their concert. Carried by this flair, the star baritone and the ensemble prizewinner of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival together impressively explore the theme of "longing". Their chamber concert tells of infatuation and the pain of love. The fact that the singer is accompanied by a string quartet instead of the usual piano promises a completely new and colorful listening experience.
