When the wind blows from the northeast to the south, Rosengarten is a real top spot. Then you can ride kilometer-long strokes parallel to the natural shore and almost always have standing-deep water under your board.
In Neu Mukran you can park directly in front of the beach and spend the night. Here, the waves pile up to three meters high on the offshore sandbank. Sideshore wind from the northeast provides creamy conditions. Also east is still relaxed to surf. On the somewhat rocky shore you have to expect moderate shorebreak.
You can park and stay overnight directly at the spot for a small fee with your van, camper or other vehicle. You can set up your equipment on the beach or on a small meadow. Best wind direction for wave fans is southwest. Then moderately high waves run into the small bay.
With crisp winds from the north to southeast, Karlshagen provides an endorphin flood for wave fans. However, since the fine sandy beach and clear Baltic water also make bathers happy, you'll have to pay attention to the swimming area during the high season.
On the tiny island of Riems – situated between Greifswald and Stralsund – is a cutting edge animal diseases research centers. Among other things, bird flu is studied here. The small museum is committed to present the history of this research, focusing on the beginnings and its founder Friedrich Loeffler.
Locals on Usedom especially appreciate Peenemünde, especially with winds from the north to southeast. Unlike most Baltic Sea spots on the island, you only have to share the beach with a few bathers. The standing area is 120 meters wide, making it perfect for anyone venturing into the waves for the first time.
With northeast to south winds, beginners will find smooth water, a wide standing area and a meadow for relaxed set-up. Since the spot is only very small and therefore quickly overcrowded, inquire beforehand at the local surf school about the conditions.
The optimal wind direction for the wave spot is east. Then small, steep ramps build up on the numerous sandbanks, which are nice to ride down.
Baabe is a top location with easterly wind directions. The waves break cleanly on the sandbank and run onto the beach with a moderate shorebreak. In high season, you are not allowed to go on the water in the bathing zone marked with buoys.
