The airfield Schmoldow is located about 15km south of Greifswald. The SportFliegerClub Greifswald e.V. is located here. Here you can complete training for gliders, motor gliders and ultralights. Glider training is also available for children over the age of 14.
Guest flights over Greifswald and the surrounding area with a glider, microlight or motor glider are another offer. The airfield also has a parachute landing field.

The Caspar-David-Friedrich-Zentrum, opened in 2004 in the historic Seifensiederei and expanded in 2011 to include the entire former residential and commercial building of the Friedrich family, commemorates the great painter and greatest son of the city of Greifswald. It is also a museum, documentation and research center. Caspar David Friedrich was born here on September 5, 1774.
