The German House in Rehna - an unusual half-timbered house.
The German House is one of the oldest houses in Rehna and also one of the most unusual half-timbered buildings in northern Germany. Since 1949, the German House has been a listed building. It was restored in 1952/53 and renovated from 1998 to 2003. Since 2004, the German House has served as the headquarters of the town library, the Plattdeutsche Verein to Rehna e.V., the Kulturinitiative Maurine-Radegast e.V. and the Volkssolidarität.

On the 1st floor of the castle, the art gallery attracts vacation guests interested in art. Some rooms here also serve as accommodation for guests. In the inner courtyard, artists also live and work in the artists' department @LabKalkhorst, and you can look over their shoulders. Anyone who is an art enthusiast will find their favorite place here.
Rehna is home to one of the most beautiful and largest preserved monastery complexes in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The monastery offers space for art, theater and music and is a focal point for pilgrimage and long-distance hiking. Particularly worth seeing are the large monastery garden, the late Romanesque monastery church, the Kneipp basin on the monastery grounds, and the pretty town of Rehna with its half-timbered buildings.
The Renaissance castle from 1573 is especially known for the detailed terracotta decorations on the facade. Currently, the 16th century building is undergoing extensive renovation. The castle can be visited on guided tours during events such as the Open Monument Day.
Only a few minutes away from the main building of the Folklore Museum lies the "Bechelsdorfer Schulzenhaus", the oldest hall house in the country.
The historic adventure farm houses a café, restaurant and farm store. The spacious farmstead with several buildings and a farm garden can also be rented for celebrations.

The Bechelsdorfer Schulzenhaus is a branch of the Schönberg Folklore Museum.

We obtain our organic milk from the surrounding regions and process it into drinking milk, butter, cheese or yogurt.
High quality cottage furnished in country style is suitable for 4 people on the first floor. Renting the whole renovated house for 6 people is possible. The cottage is equipped with a large kitchen-living room, fireplace and 2 bathrooms with sauna. It is situated very quietly embedded in a hilly landscape. The natural bathing place is within walking distance.
