The town of Dargun's flagship and an attraction for many visitors are the mighty walls of the monastery and castle complex.

The imposing walls of the former monastery, which was converted into a castle in the 16th century and severely destroyed by arson in 1945, can be marveled at today during a tour or an exciting guided tour of the grounds. The old walls house, among other things, the town information office and an exhibition room. 300-year-old yew trees and a unique avenue of hornbeams invite visitors to take a stroll in the castle park, and bridal couples can get married in the romantic 17th-century tea pavilion. Those who would like to experience Dargun from a dizzy height can climb the 25 meter high observation tower in the monastery and castle complex. From there, you have a wonderful view over the complex and the entire town.
In the former guest house of the monastery, "Uns lütt Museum" can be seen on 760 m², a lovingly furnished museum of local history to touch and try out.
The town information is located in the built-up part of the complex and has a wide range of offers ready for you. Here you can get event tips for Dargun itself and for the surrounding area, book an interesting guided tour in the monastery and castle complex or in "Uns lütt Museum" or get information about hotels and accommodations.The fantastic scenery of the monastery and castle complex is used for concerts and other events such as medieval or Christmas markets.
