Old barn - new art
Since 1985, exhibitions of works by mainly North German artists have been held in the summer in the listed barn of the Wustrow district of Barnstorf on the Saaler Bodden. Paintings, sculptures, pottery and jewelry offer a charming contrast to the beams of the medieval barn of the Eymael family.
Visitors are welcomed to the Art Barn from June to mid-October, as well as during the Christmas season and Easter holidays.

The Kranich Café in the Alte Schmiede is part of the Hessenburg estate, located 14 kilometers northeast of Ribnitz-Damgarten. The main attractions are the listed, late-classicist manor house, the neo-baroque estate park, which is also a listed building, and an early German tower mound from the 13th century (archaeological monument). In this historic, spacious ensemble, the Kranich Café stands like a jewel box from a bygone era: a graceful brick building with three round arches resting on masonry, decorated columns.
Directly on the water there is a large parking lot and surf schools that provide you with brand new rental equipment, tasty drinks and snacks during the season. So everything you need for a chilled surf day is there. Best sideshore conditions bring you wind from southwest or northwest.
In 1288, the elaborately designed brick building of the church is said to have been completed. The church consists of a choir, nave and tower. It was built on a foundation of neatly hewn granite blocks.
