Your journey along the part of the Baltic Sea cycle route in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern starts in the Bay of Lübeck. Prepared with bicycle bags, enough snacks and a bicycle in a good condition, you will be well equipped for your trip. Cyclists will pass undulating landscape of the Klützer Winkel to reach the quaint Baltic town of Wismar, which is just a few hours away from Berlin. The town itself is a well-known gem to German holidaymakers. From the historical downtown to the old habour the coastline leads bikes further away.

The main Baltic Sea cycle route in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, stretching along the sea, is well maintained, easy and family friendly. With the sea almost always in plain sight, you can travel from Wismar along several beaches and the coast through the seaside villages Kühlungsborn and Heiligendamm with its impressing white architecture. Arriving at Warnemünde which is optimal located at the sea and not far away from the Hanseatic town Rostock you need to take the ferry to reach the forestsection Rostocker heide as well as the smal costal towns. With their colorful, calm and beautiful atmosphere traditional villages like Wustrow and Ahrenshoop represend the romantic Peninsula of Fischland-Darß-Zingst.
The cycling trail is ideal for nature lovers, as it takes you through fields and small forested areas on the way, and only a few hours away are the Lake Districts and the islands of Rügen and Usedom.
