The barefoot trail starts at the Rhododendron Park. With bare feet, young and old explorers can feel stones, wood and pine cones up close. The animals of the Rostock Heath greet you from a display board. Visitors also learn exciting details about the extraction and use of resin in times long past on the barefoot path.

The path leads through the coastal forest towards the Baltic Sea. In front of the dune is the coastal protection experience world. How do the inhabitants of the seaside resort protect themselves against the destructive power of the sea? What is a storm surge? Young and old alike can discover these secrets at the playground at Seeblick. Little musicians can hear how wood sounds on the gong walls in the sound forest. And schoolchildren can meet wooden foxes and wild boars in the "Green Classroom". Those who want to know even more can call the numbers on the display boards and listen to exciting stories on their cell phones.

The natural path leads to the pier. The salty air of the sea mixes here with the sweet scent of the pines. The so called wind shifters are easy to recognize. Since the trees are constantly exposed to the Baltic Sea wind, their branches grow mainly in one direction. So they "flee" from the wind.

From the pier, the voyage of discovery with a sea view leads along the fortified promenade. Here hikers encounter the "BIG" animals and plants of the Baltic Sea. Life-size models of bladderwrack, mussel, beach grass, barnacle, flounder, herring gull and co. can be marveled at. The life styles and special features of each are explained on illustrated boards. On the way back along the beach, herring gulls and mussels can be observed in nature. And if you look carefully in front of your feet, with a little luck you might even find a rare amber.
