"Young Elite": The platform for the stars of tomorrow! In individual concerts, young musicians compete for a place in the family of prizewinners and the audience gets the chance to get to know artists at the start of their careers.
Pianist Lukas Sternath caused a stir at the ARD International Music Competition when he won seven special prizes in addition to first prize. The former Viennese choirboy and pupil of Festival prizewinner Igor Levit presents a musically challenging program in Ivenack, which begins with two major variation works and is rounded off by Franz Liszt's subtle reflections on Italian medieval and Renaissance poetry.
Before the concert, a "country tour" leads to the thousand-year-old Ivenack oaks and the Baumkuchenspezialitäten of Konditorei Komander.
