He made film history together with Angelica Domröse in the cult film "Die Legende Paul und Paula" - now Winfried Glatzeder tells the story of his life. Since "Paul and Paula", Winfried Glatzeder has been one of the most popular acting stars of the GDR - with his distinctive face, he became the "Belmondo of the East". Now he amusingly and authentically recounts his life on screen and stage between Berlin, Hamburg and Düsseldorf. With biting wit and ironic charm, Glatzeder tells of his post-war childhood in the eastern sector of Berlin and the beginnings of his acting career, when he filmed "Ein Lord am Alexanderplatz" with Armin Mueller-Stahl in 1966, among others. After "Zeit der Störche" and "Der Mann, der nach der Oma kam", Glatzeder made his breakthrough in 1973 alongside Angelica Domröse in the DEFA cult film "Die Legende von Paul und Paula". But his work repeatedly came under the scrutiny of the Stasi. In 1982, Glatzeder moved to West Berlin with his family. Crises followed, resulting in alcohol problems and creative exhaustion. Thus, 35 years after "Paul and Paula", this autobiography also tells of finding an artistic identity and the difficulties of an actor's life between East and West.
