Information day of the German Tinnitus League
This event will take place in the large seminar room in the HKB (library entrance).
This can be reached via Stargarder Straße (entrance to the regional library).
People affected by tinnitus are often impaired by the noise in their ears, the associated psychological stress and accompanying symptoms such as sleep and concentration disorders. A lecture event organized by the German Tinnitus League (DTL) will show what treatment options are available for tinnitus and what you can do to better deal with the distressing noises in your ears.
The Tinnitus Info Day is entitled "Tinnitus - what can I do myself?" and will be moderated by Tamara Oetting, advisor to the self-help organization Deutsche Tinnitus-Liga e. V. To kick off the event, participants will receive information about tinnitus and its treatment options. Afterwards, hearing aid acoustician Robert March from Geers Hörgeräte in Neubrandenburg will give a presentation on the topic of "Hearing aid fitting - as early as possible". He will explain why hearing aids can be helpful for tinnitus.
After a break, DTL counselor Tamara Oetting, herself affected by tinnitus, will talk about "Helpful tips for coping with tinnitus on your own and the benefits of self-help". The leader of various self-help groups will also talk about her own experiences and explain how self-help can provide support in dealing with the stress of tinnitus. Christine Renter from Silento, Praxis für Entspannungspädagogik, Stressbewältigung und Familienberatung in Neubrandenburg, will be offering a soothing relaxation journey to join in with her talk "Silent - Entspannt durch den Alltag!".
After the presentations, there will be an opportunity to ask the speakers questions. The Geers company will be offering a free hearing test during the event.
