"Mapping the Stars", royal splendor in a class of its own
Royal singers from Windsor Castle on behalf of His Majesty King Charles III - award-winning and international artists and ensembles will enrich the region's cultural and musical landscape in the coming season. Two former singers of the Dresdner Kreuzchor are the originators and organizers. "Klassik Deluxe" is a new concert series, founded by Christian Hacker and Steffen Schuster, which aims to present moving moments and unique world-class artists on exclusive occasions in the concert church, originating in the churches and halls of Dresden.
"The Queen's Six" deliver what their name promises: the six musical darlings of the world's most exclusive residential address sing daily at Windsor Castle on behalf of His Majesty King Charles III and are celebrated worldwide from New York to Singapore and throughout Europe with frenetic applause. Their repertoire is by no means outdated: Renaissance works by Thomas Morley & Claudio Monteverdi to jazz & pop hits by Starship, Bob Chilcott & Coldplay showcase the sparkle of the famous voices. With "Mapping the Stars", the singers present touching a cappella works of stellar splendor as well as unique arrangements and commissioned compositions. Royal sound splendor in a class of its own.
The professional ensemble was founded in 2008 to mark the 450th anniversary of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth I. "The Queen ́s Six" live at Windsor Castle, the weekend residence of King Charles III, where they perform the daily evening music and church services in St George's Chapel on the royal estate as part of the Royal Court Chapel. They regularly perform for the Royal Family - both at private and state receptions. As recently as the funeral of Prince Philip in April 2021 and the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022, the "Six" were seen on television as part of the royal St. Georges Chapel Choir in front of over 4 billion people. An honor that has only been bestowed on a few people worldwide.
