Shortly afterwards, 70-year-old former guest worker Fabrizio Collini turns himself in to the police as the perpetrator. A young and inexperienced lawyer is appointed as his public defender. As Collini stubbornly remains silent about his motive, the case seems hopeless - until his defense lawyer makes a discovery by chance and stumbles upon one of the biggest judicial scandals in German history.
