To mark International Museum Day, the special tour provides a detailed insight into the museum's work in the permanent exhibition and a look behind the scenes.
Zoological, botanical and palaeontological collections are archives of the diversity of living creatures and are therefore irreplaceable. Through their work, museums and other scientific institutions make an important contribution to research into biodiversity. The Müritzeum has been preserving, maintaining, expanding and communicating the natural history collections of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern for over 150 years. Exhibits from the collections can be seen in the nature experience exhibition. A special guided tour through the worlds of experience takes a look at special exhibits and in the House of Collections you can also go behind the scenes, into the collection rooms that are otherwise not open to the public. The focus here will be on the insect collection, in line with the current special exhibition "Multifaceted Insects - Diversity | Endangerment | Protection". Participants are also welcome to view this afterwards.
The guided tour is free of charge, you only pay the entrance fee. Due to the limited number of participants, it is essential to register by calling 03991/63 36 80.
