The Rosenheim Deanery Chamber Choir invites you to a sacred evening concert on Saturday, June 1 at 8 p.m. in St. Mary's Church in Barth. The a capella ensemble of the Protestant Deanery District from Bavaria, which is visiting our region, sings sacred motets by Heinrich Schütz, Henry Purcell, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Max Reger and Rudolf Mauersberger, among others.
The main work is the great motet "Fear not, I am with you", BWV 228 by Johann Sebastian Bach. Christiane Bettger (Rosenheim) will play organ works from several eras on the Buchholz organ.
In addition to their work in the Rosenheim deanery district, the 16 singers have undertaken concert tours to Augsburg and Würzburg and sang in Berlin Cathedral in 2018. The choir is conducted by church music director Andreas Hellfritsch.
Admission is free.
