The National Socialists' "Action against the un-German spirit" began on May 10, 1933.
Thousands of books, mainly by Jewish authors, but also by other politically undesirable writers of philosophy, poetry and science, were banned and publicly burned. These creative artists will be commemorated with readings on the market square, also with pupils from the Ev. Schule St. Marien Neubrandenburg (EVA).
