35 years after the fall of the Wall, there is not just one GDR, but numerous stories and perspectives on a country that has long since disappeared.

Historian Katja Hoyer is traveling from the UK to present her book "This Side of the Wall". It is a comprehensive look at GDR history, written from an outsider's perspective that is both factual and well worth reading. Together with the author, we will explore the multitude of memories, the sum of which allows a comprehensive view of the GDR.

The event takes place as a finissage to the exhibition "Tracing. Places of the Peaceful Revolution in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern", which is being shown in Neubrandenburg to mark the 35th anniversary of the Peaceful Revolution. It is an exhibition of the State Center for Political Education M-V. It is organized by the four-gate city of Neubrandenburg with the support of St. Johanniskirche.
