The storm surge heights and circumstances have only been recorded since 1872. An old stone steeped in history - probably the storyteller par excellence - reminds us of the village of Damerow, which was unceremoniously washed into oblivion by the sea. And who doesn't remember the last major breakthrough between Koserow and Zempin in December 1913? That's when the Baltic Sea struck hard. November 1995 even brought one of the worst storm surges of the century - as if the sea needed an encore. But let's be honest: when will the next big flood come?
