Piano concert with Alex Bergstedt and Christine Meinert. Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann and others.
Two years ago, the Jasmund Association for Music and Art received an original Grotrian-Steinweg concert grand piano from 1906, a valuable historical instrument from the best years of German instrument making.
The piano has been around for three centuries now, and these three centuries are reflected in fascinating compositions for piano. Many famous pieces such as "Für Elise" were composed for piano, and there is hardly a piece of music for which there is not also a piano version. Entire operas, some of which last several hours, have been transcribed for piano in thick books, as have symphonies, film music, rock songs and current pop music.
The Rügen pianists Christine Meinert and Alex Bergstedt invite you on a musical journey through these three centuries. Works by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and Schumann will be performed in the beautiful acoustics of the large St. Michael's Church in Sagard. Admission is free.
